The Undergraduate Program in Physics is accredited “A” by the National Accreditation Body for Higher Education (BAN-PT) according to BAN-PT Decree No. 227/SK/BAN-PT/Ak-XVI/S/XI/2013. This accreditation is valid until November 2018.
The Undergraduate Program in Physics has five specializations:
Theoretical Nuclear & Particle Physics
This specialization focuses on developing analytical skill with competency in elementary particle and nuclear theory and in analyzing and predicting natural phenomena. Competency in this specialization includes Nuclear Technology and Application, Relativistic and Non-Relativistic Quantum Mechanics, Numerical Analysis, and Computer Programming.
This specialization emphasizes on identifying and modifying materials with good quality in practical experience and strong basic science comprehension in Competency in Materials Nanotechnology, Physical Chemistry, Special Materials, Materials Engineering, and Special Competence
according to the community.
Condensed Matter Physics
This specialization focuses on the competence in modeling and calculating and/or synthesizing, characterizing, and analyzing the electric, magnetic, and optical properties of crystalline, amorphous, or liquid systems.
System & Instrumentation Physics
This specialization produces graduates with competence in analyzing, duplicating, modifying, developing, designing, innovating and creating prototypes of scientific and industrial electronic instruments.
Medical Physics & Biophysics
This specialization produces professional and competent graduates in the optimization of physics applications in the field of health, among others related to nuclear radiation, X-ray, ultrasonic, magnetic resonance and laser, especially for diagnostic imaging and oncology therapy.
Produces competent graduates in the Geophysical Exploration (Data Acquisition, Processing, Analysis and Data Interconnection) which is based on strengthening aspects of Basic Concepts of Geosciences, Numerical Computing and Field Direct Applications in Oil and Gas Exploration, Geothermal, Coal and Minerals. Graduates of this specialization have the competence in the field: Geology, Numerical Computing (Matlab, Fortran, etc.), Geoelectric and Electromagnetic Methods, Gravity Methods, Geomagnetic Methods, Seismic Methods, Geophysical Instrumentation, Petroleum Exploration, Geothermal Exploration and Geophysics Mining.
